| OCTOBER 5 2001: KNSU THE EDGE 91.5FM (THIBODAUX, LA) INTERVIEW BY DJs AXLE & DORIAN Axle: One of our DJs here, Rossington Collins thinks that's one of the best bands ever. One of his favorite bassists is a member of that band. Jak: Les Claypool. Axle: Wes Claypool, yeah. That's the name of the bassist. Dorian: Les Claypool. Jak: Les. Axle: LES Claypool, my bad. Jak: From Primus. Axle: Primus? Jak: Yeah. Axle: Bassist from Primus. All right so there we go. A little insight from our friend Jak here who might I remind you will be playing at Edge Fest when that rolls around. Jak: November 7. Axle: Yep. So tonight's pretty slow. No one's called in, no one's made any requests so we've got a nice long list already set up... Axle: All right that was Cake with "Let Me Go". Jak: Yes that was. Axle: Yes. So, what's going on tonight fellas, besides sitting in a radio station. Jak: Absolutely nothing for us at least, it seems like, I mean I think that's why nobody's calling it's Friday night and I think everybody's out. Axle: Pretty much, everyone's out at the big spots downtown. Jak: Oh yeah. Which is where I'm thinking about being later tonight. Axle: Same here. Jak: I'm sure you will be more than happy to accompany me on our sojourn for ah, all sorts of fun stuff. Axle: Yes, the infinite knowledge of carnal pleasure. Hahaha Jak: Exactly yes haha something like that, yeah. Dorian: I'm gonna go home and carnally pleasure myself. Axle: HAHAHAHA Jak: HAHAHAHA Axle: I don't think we're allowed to talk about that on the air. Jak: No you can't, you can't say that. Dorian: [unintelligible] Jak: We know. Axle: Yeah, he's talkin about going and having a big old tub of Ben & Jerry's, right? Dorian: Yeah, the [unintelligible] Jak: Since when is ice cream carnal? Axle: Uh, I don't know. Yeah yeah, you're right, that's not exactly carnal. Jak: That's not like, an endorsement for Ben & Jerry's? Axle: Oh, my bad, oh well... Axle: All right that was the Deftones with "Back To School". Real quickly we want to thank everyone for their support at Hippie Day and for those of you who didn't realize it, our very own Dorian was actually backing Jak up on rhythm guitar. Dorian: Yeah for like a couple of songs. Jak: Then he had to go. Dorian: Yeah. Axle: Yeah. Also our DJ Rossington Collins was backing him up on bass as well so it was definitely an interesting event to behold. Jak: Oh yeah, it was very interesting and there's about three more coming up, two definitely, three maybe. Definitely the Edge Fest, there's a good chance we'll be playing for the, right before the Grambling and Nicholls game on November 10 so that'd be something to go catch, that's just three days after Edge Fest. So, looking forward to seeing some people out there... |
