Losing The Plot

We don't fit in here and that is beautiful as we've got nothing here to lose
(Nothing to show from where we came)
Nobody sees us, this world is ours to make, everything else is overused
(Us versus them's all I can claim)

It's three PM on a Monday, think I'll catch a ride downtown
And I'll remember this one day, til I'm whoever that is, I'm underground

And I know it'll be much better
And don't you know it'll be much better
Do you think it could be much better? All right

There's somewhere elsewhere that I'm supposed to be, I've felt that everywhere I go

In my dreams, we meet at ends of roads I did not take (did not take)
In my dreams, I walk away
If a dream's a door to other places that we could have been
One of me's got to learn some day

All that we ever want is something we can keep a claim to (but you can't)
Impermanence is all we get
I've learned it's best to crave the terror of the temporary, I'm not sure I believe that yet

Like waking from a sleepwalk, learning what you've wrought
Now everyone's so far away
While I was chasing rainbow shadows, sculpting stories, forging glories
I left my soul in yesterday
Though I've locked a thousand doors, I've gotten back before

I don't fit in here and that is beautiful as I've got nothing here to lose
I'll get it right this time, don't you know it'll be much better
