Raining Song
written by: Jak Locke

version 1:
from Seed (October 12th 2001) (7:30)
You got my name but I ain’t got yours
Is there a purpose to walkin out of my door
I stuck inside the closet with my clothes and all my things
If you wanna help me just help me sing
We singin like this
La la la la la

I got a cheap lighter but it makes me look like I got class
When I try to light something the thing’s a big pain in the ass
Amplifier wires that I got for five bucks
If you ask me about the weather my response’ll be "It sucks"
La la la la la
Sing along with me now
La la la la la

I sit in front of my computer which is my second new best friend
I play games on emulators and my free time never ends
When I’m through with that I go catch my friends down at the end of the hall
After that I come back to my room and beat my head up against the wall
I’m singin
La la la la la

If I could I’d be a mattress and lay horizontal all day
Got nothing to do or think or be or feel or say
I just wanna have some time to myself if that’s all right
So if you want me I’ll be here all morning afternoon and night
And singing
La la la la la
Yeah I’m singing
La la la la la

Even in my own daydreams I never get so very far
I had one the other day I got run over by a Matchbox car
Paper EMT’s came to get me but I didn’t have no insurance
I tried to find the first cereal box I could but I lacked the proper endurance
So I had to grab some scissors and cut out a piece of the sidewalk with my name
I said you can be insured that this is what they call me they said that’s not what they say
So then I looked them in the eye made of plastic and I told them to just get lost
But that’s ok anyway because I was road sauce
And I was sittin there singin singin singin singin singin singin singin sing it with me
La la la la la
Singing
La la la la la

I talk to seagulls and I talk to the trees but they don’t ever listen what I got to say
The same for you and everybody else, y'all don’t listen anyway
So I just ramble and ramble all on and have conversations with myself
You can tell me about it all that you want, I could care less about my mental health
Because I’m singin
La la la la la
I’m happy singin
La la la la la
Put a smile on singin
La la la la la
I’m happy singin
La la la la la
Get up I’m singin
La la la la la
I’m singin
La la la la la
I’m always singing
La la la la la
Singin
La la la la la
Just always singin
La la la la la
I'm fadin singin
La la la la la

version 2:
from The Renovated Enervated (July 20th 2002) (4:31)
You got my name but I ain't got yours
Is there a purpose to walking out of my door
I'm stuck on top the levee with my clothes and all my things
If you want to help me just help me sing
We're singin like this
La la la la la la la la la la la la lalala
I'm singin la la la la la lala la la la la la lala

If I could I'd be a mattress and lay horizontal all day
Got nothin to do or think or be or feel or say, whoa yeah
I just wanna have some time to myself if that's all right
So if you want me I'll be here all morning, afternoon and night, right here and singin
La la la la la la la la la la la la
Yeah I'm singin la la la la la lala la la la la la lala

I talk to folks up and down the sidewalk, they don't ever listen what I got to say
The same for you and all the state legislature, y'all don't listen anyway
You never know until it's past too late which way the world is gonna bend
Singin hymns of days long past to the wall and the ocean my friend
I'm happy singin
La la la la la la la la la la la la
Get up I'm singin la la la la la lala la la la la la lala

Even in my own daydreams I never get so very far
I had one the other day I got run over by a rich man's car
All the EMTs came to get me but I didn't have no insurance
I tried to get up and find the first doctor I could but I did not have any endurance
So then I grabbed my wallet and tossed out some change and a card that had my name
I said "You can be ensured that this is what they call me"
They said "That's not what everybody claim"
Then I looked him in the eye as my final breath escaped through the hole in my chest
With final words screamin "He who dies richest dies best"
And I was sittin singin
Singin singin singin singin singin a-singin singin sing it with me
La la la la la la la la la la la la la
Put up I'm singin la la la la la lala la la la la la la la
Yeah come on I'm singin la la la la la la la la la la la la
I'm forever singin la la la la la la
